The labor accident rate has grown by 4.4% in 2018, according to data from the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security.
After a continuous increase since 2014, occupational accidents continue to grow above the affiliation of workers to Social Security, which last year increased by 2.9%.
According to the analysis of the IV Occupational Accident Observatory of Asepeyo, presented by Constantino Perea, territorial director, at the Efe Agency, 51.9% of work accidents with sick leave occur in the first three hours of the working day, the second being hour with the highest loss rate.
On the other hand, 57.2% of all workplace accidents occur on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 61% of these occurred in workers with 3 or less years of service in the company. According to the data, 11% of workers accumulate 21% of cases.
The study highlights that traffic accidents represent 13.4% of the total number of work accidents with medical leave, 4.09% more than in 2017. This percentage increases to 46.5% when it comes to work cases deadly.
In addition, the Observatory points out that the activity sectors with the highest incidence rate are construction and manufacturing industry, and those with the lowest rate, education and scientific and technical activities.
