Article from Climax Products; one of the leading manufacturers of personal protective equipment.
Description
The Climax self-filtering masks have been designed to effectively retain suspended dust particles, mists and fumes. They are very light, comfortable and offer very low breathing resistance. They are classified into three levels of protection according to their effectiveness: FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3. The types of application of the 1730 FFP3 NR model are grinding, cutting, drilling of wood, stainless steel, painting, lacquers and anti-corrosion paint, varnishing with solvent-based paint and asbestos removal.
Regarding Covid19
When the risk assessment shows that during the development of the activity, healthcare procedures are carried out in which bioaerosols may be generated in high concentrations, the use of self-filtering particle masks by healthcare personnel is recommended. The respiratory protection generally recommended for healthcare personnel who may be in contact within 2 metres of confirmed or under investigation cases is a self-filtering mask of the FFP2 / FFP3 type. Self-filtering masks should not be reused and therefore must be discarded after use. Under no circumstances should the user apply their own disinfection methods as the effectiveness of the equipment may be affected. In order to avoid contagion, confirmed and under investigation cases must wear surgical masks. In the event that they wear a self-filtering mask, in no case will it include an exhalation valve as in this case the air is exhaled directly into the environment without any type of retention and, if necessary, the spread of the virus would be favoured.
Features
Soft inner material: The inner material provides great comfort throughout the day.
Adjustable nose clip: Easy to adjust to provide the greatest protection throughout the day.
Synthetic adjustment bands: Does not contain materials made with natural rubber (latex). No staples, just one ring.
Exhalation valve: Offers greater comfort during the work day in humid environments and/or where the work pace is high.
Maximum level of use: 50 x VLA (Environmental Limit Values).
Protection: Non-toxic, medium-low toxicity and high toxicity solid and liquid aerosols (such as oil mists).
Warnings
Do not use masks in the following situations:
· The oxygen concentration is less than 19.5% (by volume).
· Explosive atmospheres.
· Presence of unknown contaminants.
· Presence of gases or vapours.
The use of self-filtering masks is reserved for competent persons who have received adequate training or are used under the supervision of a competent superior.
